HAYNES, Vernon O. - Age 81, of Mt. Morris, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 11AM at the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris, Pastor Betty Gamboa officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Family will be present at the Miles Martin Funeral Home to receive friends on Thursday from 6-9PM and Friday from 1-9PM. On Saturday Vern will be taken to church where he will lie in state from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial donations may be considered for the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris. Envelopes available at the funeral home and church. Vernon was born March 10, 1923 in Grayling, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl and Inez (Wynn) Haynes. He and Betty Frazier were united in marriage on June 1, 1946 in Mt. Morris. He was employed by Buick Motor Division as a Skilled Tradesman, for 37 years, retiring in 1980. Vernon served in Western Europe for the United States Army during World War II. Vern leaves to cherish his memory wife Betty, daughter Dianne and husband John Corcoran, son Bruce and wife Martha Haynes, son Roger and wife Gail Haynes, and daughter Janice and husband Bruce Knight, grandchildren, Amy and Emily Corcoran, Noah and wife Shelly Haynes, Sarah and husband Mike Gizzi, Leigha Haynes, Ashley and Kari Knight, great grandchildren Solomon, Samson, and Isaiah Haynes, and Maximus and Isabella Gizzi, brother Robert Haynes, sisters in law Nina, Elsie, and Marian Haynes, many nieces and nephews.
