Charles J. Wolff, age 87, a lifelong resident of Manitowoc, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 5, 2017, at Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center of Manitowoc.

Chuck was born on July 9, 1930, in Manitowoc, son of the late Joseph and Orpha (Seigworth) Wolff. He attended local area schools and graduated with the class of 1948 from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Chuck served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army from August of 1951 until his honorable discharge achieving the rank of Corporal in August of 1953. On October 16, 1954, he married Theresa Fruzyna in Newton. Chuck and his wife owned and operated the Wolff Insurance Agency in Manitowoc until his retirement.

Chuck will be remembered for being a great family man. He had many hobbies including playing board games, card games, bowling and swimming with his family. Chuck spent many hours with his shot shell and fishing lure collections. He looked forward to the hunting and fishing seasons. He was a member of Trout Unlimited, Helen Shaw Fly Tiers, Manitowoc Gun Club, Manitowoc County Fish & Game and the Federation of Fly Fishers. Chuck was a champion for the conservancy movement namely on the Onion River. He was also proud of his military associations. Chuck’s sense of humor was uniquely designed and appreciated by those around him and he founded “Wolff Humor”. He loved watching the Walking Dead and even took notes on the programs. Chuck was a great resource for his children as he was an amazing handyman. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and was involved with Boy Scouts, Fish Boils and Parish Council. He loved going to Van’s for a hamburger.

Survivors include his wife: Theresa Wolff, Manitowoc; his nine children and spouses: Linda (David) Misorski, Waukesha; Mark (Mary) Wolff, Manitowoc, Ann (Joe) Lakatos, Appleton; Susan (Jim) DeZeeuw, Branch; John Wolff, De Pere; Mary (Don) Fogltanz, Manitowoc; Peggy (Barry) Vance, Columbus, GA; Steven (Michele) Wolff, Manitowoc; Scott (Bridget) Wolff, Chicago; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchild; one brother and sister-in-law: James (Carol) Wolff, Manitowoc; one sister and brother-in-law: Barbara (Robert) Ahrens, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Maureen Wolff, FL; Anthony (Deanna) Fruzyna, Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Orpha Wolff; two brothers: Thomas Wolff; Bill Wolff; one brother-in-law: Francis “Fuzz” Fruzyna.

Private family services were held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. The Rev. Mark Mleziva officiated, entombment followed at Knollwood Mausoleum.
