Timothy W. Lawson of Lexington, NC passed away at his home on Friday, November 10, 2017. Timothy was a veteran of the Vietnam War Era serving as Private First Class of the 18th Airborne Corp. Also, Timothy was a former Deputy Police Officer of Buchanan County, VA, he served under Sheriff Auburn Ratliff.
He is the beloved husband of Rebecca Keen Lawson for the past 39 years.
In addition to his wife, he is God Parent of Chelsea, Joshua, Samuel Hylton and Hallie and Abel Keen. He was a caring special uncle to all his nieces and nephews, there were many on both sides of the family that loved him.
Born in Richlands, VA Timothy was a son of the late Louie C. and Delphia V. (Harrison) Lawson. He was brother of the late (sisters) Phyllis A. Jeter, Pat Waldron, and Nancy Rosier and (brothers) Louie “Sonny” Lawson, Jr., Dennis E. Lawson, and Nelson T. Lawson.
He is survived by 6 sisters, Mattie Bolyard of Maryland, Linda Detamore, Sylvia (John) Rucker, Joyce (Wayne) Honaker, Lisa Faye Lawson, and Rhonda Iverson all of Virginia. One brother, James (Betty) Lawson and brother/nephew, David (Rhonda) Lawson both of Bandy, VA.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 13, at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, VA with Pastor Ronnie Kinder officiating. Burial will follow at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, VA. Pallbearers will be Matthew Keen, Abel Keen, Tyler Whitt, Gary Keen, Steve Harrison, Bill Price, Josh Hylton, Samuel Hylton, and Greg Ball. Flower Girls will be Chelsea Hylton, Virginia Ann Lawson, Haillie Keen, and Jill Ball. The family will receive friends at 6:00 P.M. Sunday with a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 P.M. at Singleton Funeral Service.
