Mr. Guy Garner, age 81, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away on September 26, 2013.
He was born September 5, 1932 in Muscadine, AL to the late Leroy and Edna Smith Garner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betina Cole Garner; and a sister, Beth Plummer.
Mr. Garner was an aircraft mechanic and worked for Delta Airlines. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was also a member of Providence Baptist Church.
He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Jim Emerson of Moreland, GA and Sherry and Mike Bishop of Newnan, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Penny Garner of Winston, GA; seven grandchildren, Madison Nash, Melissa Pervis, Scott Bishop, Alex Emerson, Samantha Brinson, Austin Garner, and Caitlin Garner; and two great-grandchildren, Kamrie Bishop and Nash Pervis.
Funeral services will be held September 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM from Providence Baptist Church with Dr. Mason Bush and Rev. David Ginn officiating. Music will be provided by Harold Blackmon and Brant Howell.
Pallbearers serving will be Alex Emerson, Austin Garner, Madison Nash, Rob Purvis, Bryan Brinson, and Jason Blackmon.
Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with the Haralson County Veterans Association providing full military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, September, 27, 2013, between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
