Fannie B. Miles, 91, of the 900 block of Louisa St., died March 21, 2003 at Harbour Pointe Medical Center.

She was born in Sunbury, N.C. and was a faithful member of Hood Chapel AME Zion Church, 611 Rockingham St., Norfolk, for over 76 years where she served in many organizations, including the Altar Guild, Senior Choir, Missionary Society, teacher for the Junior Church and superintendent of the Sunday School. She was retired from the dietary department at Norfolk Public Schools.

She was the widow of the Rev. Claudious Miles. She was also predeceased by her parents, Sally Mae Beamon and Thomas Jordan and a step son, William C. Miles. She is survived by a brother, Charlie Jordan of Chesapeake and a host of family and friends, including her church family.

A funeral will be held Saturday at noon in Hood Chapel AME Zion Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Dr. Edmond H. Whitley Sr. and the Rev. Dr. Clarence A. Cuffee Sr. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Her body will be placed in church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church by 11:30 a.m. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Avenue Chapel, is in charge.
