Margaret (Peggy) June Webster passed away peacefully on May 2, 2017 in San Diego. Peggy was born in Chicago, IL on August 20, 1924. She had a successful career as an executive secretary for Inland Steel in Chicago. She moved to San Diego in 1960 with her two daughters, Judith and Carol Rawski, and worked as an executive secretary for General Dynamics Astronautics. In 1965 she married Lt. Hugh Webster and became the mother to his children, Jean and Paul. As a Navy wife, she traveled the world, and raised a second family. She was admired and respected by many for her down-to-earth concern for all people. As the wife of an admiral, she had a responsibility to carry out that not many could have achieved. She was an active volunteer for several organizations including the Navy League and Avante Garde YMCA in San Diego. She was always learning something new. She took piano lessons at an early age and played most of her life.
Peggy was predeceased, after 51 years of marriage, by her husband Rear Admiral Hugh Webster, and is survived by their four children, Judith McComas, Carol Kaiser with husband John Borgens, Jean Casey with husband Tom, and Paul Webster. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service to be held at Miramar National Cemetery on May 22, at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated by the family.
