James Christopher Gossett, 80, of Corning, Ar., passed away on Nov. 10, 2017 at his home.

James was born on July 7, 1937 in Butler County, Mo. he worked as a truck driver and enjoyed cooking, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the first General Baptist Church in Corning.

On July 21, 1979 he married Rose Mary McAnally Gossett in Success, Ar. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Gayla Gunter and husband Rolland, Felicia Jones and husband Don, all of Doniphan; 1 sister, Mary Lou Berry of Success, Ar.; 1 brother, Beverly Gossett and wife Faye of Success, Ar.; 3 grandchildren, Phoebe Matson, Melissa Gunter, Deven Gunter; as well as 2 great grandchildren, James Matson and Jessica Foster.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Opal Gossett and 1 great grandchild, Winona Rose Opal Matson.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Fowler & Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville, Mo. Funeral will be Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Jeff Crain officiating. Burial will take place at Hitt Cemetery in Success Ar.
