He was born in Akron and lived in Cuyahoga Falls most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service retiring in 1987 after 30 years of service.

He is pre ceded in death by his parents, Horace and Ida. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen; daughter, Diane ( Martin) Caruso of Munroe Falls; sons, Ken neth of Stow, David of Cuya hoga Falls, and Paul (Karen) of Tallmadge; brother, Harold Bargerof San Antonio, Texas; and sister, Marian (Stanley) Nichols of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Lisa (Rob) Sivec, Julie (Andy) Paratore, Marc (Monica) Caruso, Steven, Sarah, Kevin, David and Emily Barger; great - grandchildren, Elaina, and Nich olas Sivec, Luke and Halle Ca ruso and Sophia Paratore.

Calling hours will be Monday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the McGowan- Reid & Santos Funeral Home at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail where funeral services will be Tuesday 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Ohio Parkinsons Foundation Northeast Region, P.O. Box 271, Tallmadge, Ohio 44278- 0271.
