OBITUARY:
Michael Allan Monk, 62 of Pasco, WA passed away on November 7, 2017 at the Tri City Chaplaincy Hospice House in Kennewick, WA. Michael was born on November 7, 1955 in Sandpoint, ID to Everett and Dorothy (Chapin) Monk and was the oldest of four children.

In 1979 Michael began his career with the Franklin County Sheriff's Department as a Reserve Road Deputy. Shortly after, he became a Corrections Officer in the jail. He worked hard to become a Sergeant and then finally the Luetenant.

In 2016 after 37 years of service, Michael retired from the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. Michael was a hard worker and enjoyed his job. He was loved and respected by all.

In 1981 Michael married his wife of 36 years, Denise (Calihan) Monk. They have two children, Elizabeth and Kyle.

Michael enjoyed going on camping trips with his family and hunting and fishing with his brother & best friend, Mark Monk. Michael also had a passion for working on and restoring motorcycles as well as riding them. He belonged to the Retro Riders Motorcycle Club and the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Dorothy Monk and his sister Sharon Monk.

He leaves behind many that loved him dearly including his wife Denise (Calihan) Monk of Pasco, WA, daughter Elizabeth Monk of Kennewick, WA, son Kyle Monk of Pasco, brother Mark (Gidget) Monk of Eltopia, WA, sister Leslee (Shannon) Swimmer of Pasco, WA, nephews David Monk, Isaiah Cantu & Jon Cantu and neices Nicole Monk & Lili Cantu.

Memorial Service will be Friday, November 17, 2017, 11 a.m., at the Church of Latter-day Saints, Columbia Basin Ward located at 7550 Eltopia West Rd., Eltopia, WA with internment to follow at the Eltopia Cemetery.
