Ann Hamric Boyd, 79, of Newport, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

There will be a visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.

Ann was born April 12, 1938 in Greenville, NC. She is survived by her husband, James T. Boyd; son, Charles A. Hollingsworth and wife, Sharon of Farmville, NC; step-daughter, Stephany B. Revich and husband, Yuri Revich; step-grandson, Boyd G. Revich of Powder Springs, GA.

She was preceded in death by parents, Mabel Hoell and Eugene Hamric; son, William B. Hollingsworth; grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. W.L. Best; Mr. and Mrs. E.S. Hamric.

Ann graduated from Greenville High School in 1956 where she was a member of the National Honor Society, a marshal, and cheerleader. During her school years she studied dance and piano. She attended East Carolina University, received her nurse’s education, with honors, at Pitt Community College and an associate degree, with honors, in business management from Carteret Community College.

She was a grade mother, helping with school activities for many years, when her sons were in school; a Cub Scout den mother for four years; office nurse in family practice for thirty years; past president of Carpe Diem Book Club in Greenville, NC; member of the Bud ‘n Shrub Garden Club in Newport, NC; and a VIPS (volunteer in police services) at Newport Police Department.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the North Carolina Food Bank at 1924 Capital Blvd., Raleigh, NC 27604. Condolences may be made to the family at Post Office Box 712 Newport, NC 28570.
