Pamela Jane Matthews, 68, of Badger, IA passed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 5, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Luncheon to follow service at the Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Pamela Matthews (Hansen) was born in Fort Dodge, IA on September 13, 1949. She spent most of her early years in Fort Dodge and later her adult years in Badger, IA. In July 1995, Pam married Zachary Matthews. They lived in Fort Dodge until his death due to cancer. Pam was always involved with people with special needs and worked many years with special needs clients.
Pamela is survived by her siblings Karen (Mick) Faye of Fort Dodge, Gail Higgins (Mick Halverson) of Badger, Skip (Sheryl) Hansen of Fort Dodge, Lynn Hansen of Badger and Terry Raymond of Rutland, IA, Mike (Dawn) Wertz of Pueblo, CO. Dondi Hansen of Sioux City, and Wendy (Jason) Corn of Sioux City. There are also several other half and step siblings. Special mention to her niece Jamie (Craig) Schlienz and great-niece Sophia Schlienz of Fort Dodge; Special friends Joyce Clark of Story City, IA and Dennis Johnson of Fort Dodge. Pam is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Pam loved her family, the fall season and watching birds. Especially the hummingbirds and cardinals.
