Martha Danease Lawson, 78, of Grayson died Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. She was born December 24, 1938 in Rush, KY; a daughter of the late Dexter, Sr. and Jessie Elizabeth (Fannin) Sergent.

Danease was a loving mother, homemaker and was a hairdresser. She was a member of the Barretts Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two husbands, James P. Little and Thurston “Ben” Lawson.

She is survived by a son, Tony “Bill” (Janie) Little of Grayson; three daughters, Threasa (Ray) Boggs, Anna (Carl Wayne) McGlone, Leasa (Brian) Swint, and stepdaughter, Terri (Carey) Burchett, all of Grayson, KY; six brothers, Albert (Ida) Sergent of Grayson, Dexter Sergent of Oxnard, CA, Gene (Sharon) Sergent of Lansing, MI, Jack Sergent of Grayson, Charlie (Joan) Sergent of Mt. Sterling, KY, and Danny (Sue) Sergent of Grayson; two sisters, Glenna (Ike) Rigsby of Rush, KY and Wilma (Delmar) McCall of Grayson, KY; nine grandchildren, Toni, Jamie, Erica, Megan, Blake, Caleb, Colt, Kayla and Tyler; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Lauren, Alex, Christopher, Jareth, Rayland, and Erin; and a host of extended family, friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home, Tom Swartzwelder and Joe Ed Rice, ministers. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
