Harriet was 16 when she married Henry W. Holmes, the son of Samuel and Sarah, at Plymouth on Sept. 21, 1843. They were the parents of the following known children, Jerrie, born in 1845; Harriet K., born in 1847; Henry M., born in 1851; Mary N., born in 1856; Winifred, born in 1862; and Frederick, born in 1872.
Harriet resided with her son Frederick in Dorchester, MA late in life. She died due to "Senility" at age 80.
