Willametta "Metta" Marquam was born on 1 April 1871, in Portland, Oregon. She was born to Philip Augustus and Emma (Kern) Marquam.

About 1892, she married Alfred K. Velten. Their union lasted until the death of Alfred, in 1944.

Then on 6 May 1946, Metta married Leander Theodore Turner, in Seattle, Washington. This marriage lasted until the death of Leander, in 1953.

At the age of ninety five, on 1 April 1966, Willametta passed away in Ensenada, Porto Rico. She was laid to rest with her first husband, Alfred, in Port Orchard, Washington.
