Misty Michelle Holland was born December 16, 1976 in Houston, Texas, where she resided her entire life.
She was the beloved daughter of Jeannie Bramble and Randy Holland.

Family and friends will gather at a memorial service to celebrate Misty's life at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 13th, at Westland Baptist Church, 1407 West Grand Parkway, Katy, Texas 77494.

Misty loved animals and was jokingly referred to as "the dog whisperer" by those who loved her and knew her well. She was passionate about rescuing animals and finding them homes.

Friends were very important to Misty and she loved spending time with them, especially with best friends Stacey, Rebecca, Jessica, Keely, and Tina. Such times were often filled with music and dancing. Misty's friends were her strong support and formed "Team Misty" for which the family is ever grateful.

The happiest day of Misty's life was December 25, 2010, when she gave birth to her precious son, Gabriel. He was her joy and a constant source of strength after she received her diagnosis. Misty loved to spend time with Gabriel. Some of her favorite moments were spent in bed letting him feed her, letting him give her kisses, watching TV together, hearing his joyous laughter, seeing his face light up with smiles, and watching him play (and even fight) with his cousins.

Misty was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Edith and Edward Hendrickson; paternal grandmother, Alma Holland; and stepfather Lawrence "Lon" Bramble. Eugene Holland, her paternal grandfather, followed Misty in death this week.

She is survived by her son, Gabriel Bramble Davis; mother, Jeannie Bramble; father, Randy Holland; brother, Wayne Holland and wife, Kimberly; brother, Erik Holland and wife, Britt; sister, Priscilla Sambrano; boyfriend, Bramble Davis; niece, Peyton Holland; nephews, Allen, Hudson and Parker Holland; aunt, Janet Sawyer; uncle Doug Hendrickson and wife, Gloria; uncle Ed Hendrickson and wife, Glenda; aunt Donna Grigor and husband, Leonard; cousin Karen Damon; cousin David Zaunbrecher and wife, Mae, cousin Randy Zaunbrecher and wife, Kim; cousin Stacy Hodges and husband, Craig; cousin Rick Hendrickson; cousin Kelly Hendrickson; cousin Jenny Hensley and husband, Tony.

Our beloved Misty waged a valiant battle against ALS over the past year. Never complaining and always with a smile, Misty fought with courage, grace, and humility against time and the cruelty of this disease. Last Friday, our Misty won that battle, although our tears, sadness, and sorrow may make that appear otherwise. In Misty's final act, she donated her organs so that others might be spared the anguish and sorrow of an untimely loss. We recently learned that Misty's kidneys have been transplanted into two lucky recipients, a 57 year old man and a 6 year old little girl, both Houstonians. One of the most beautiful ironies of this entire episode is that the same body that had become a prison for Misty has become a key, a conduit for freedom, and life. We can all rejoice in the fact that part of Misty still lives on and is still bringing smiles and joy.

However, Misty's journey is not completely over. She left us with her beautiful son, Gabriel. He will continue to need our support as he traverses this world without his Mama; but judging by what our family has seen this past year, his life will be rich with love and happiness. Please keep him in your prayers.

So let's cry our tears, hug each other's necks, and punch some walls, because while our suffering endures, hers is over.

Tonight, Misty sprints with the Angels.

"fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
