Donald F. Lombard (USN, Ret.), 84, of Wareham, died Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Kindred Transitional Care at Forestview in Wareham. He was the husband of the late Eugenia (Lopes) Lombard.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Joseph J. & Carrie E. (Enos) Lombard.
A graduate of Wareham High School, Class of 1950, Mr. Lombard enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1951, and served for over 22 years, retiring in 1974. Stationed in NAVSTA Newport, RI, he was Radioman Chief Petty Officer.
Mr. Lombard was a member of the Fleet Reserve Assoc., Dudley Brown V.F.W. Post, American Legion Post # 220, Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 7, New Bedford, and St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Onset.
He is survived by his sons, Donald F. Lombard, Jr. of New Bedford, and Joseph J. Lombard of Wareham, and his step-son, John H. Lopes of New Bedford.
His funeral service will be at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 391 Onset Ave., Onset. Interment with military honors will be in Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be Wednesday at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham MA
