and Megan Keller
October 22, 2016 - November 8, 2017
Cody Timothy Keller, and his beloved wife, Megan Elizabeth Keller, entered the gates of Heaven hand in hand on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Their sudden death was tragic and heartbreaking. Cody and Megan were married on October 22, 2016, and spent every available moment together. They recently returned from a two week honeymoon spent in the Western United States. Cody and Megan enjoyed attending church together at Palmyra Church of Christ and Little Washington Congregational Church where they considered their many friends as family. Cody and Megan were Michigan football fans and proudly wore their maize and blue. They were extremely happy living on their small family farm in rural Mansfield. Attending state and county fairs and tractor pulls were one of their favorite activities. Cody and Megan achieved the perfect balance of work and play and were perfectly suited to be together. They each made the other complete in every way.

Born June 15, 1988, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, Cody was the son of Timothy and Gina (Beheler) Keller. He graduated from Madison High School in 2007 and was an all around athlete and enjoyed playing recreational softball after high school. A down home, generous man, Cody enjoyed line dancing with his beautiful wife and listening to country music. Cody had high morals, compassion for his family and friends and an incredible work ethic. He was employed at Gorman-Rupp Company for 10 years and they were deeply saddened by his sudden and tragic death. He was a dependable, upbeat man and overall great guy. Cody usually had a quick one-line joke or comment that would instantly lighten the mood in any situation. He was very protective of his family and devoted his life to each and every one of them.

Cody is survived by his parents, Tim and Gina Keller of Mansfield; sister, Shelbi (Ben) Ohl of Mansfield; grandfather, Dale Beheler of Fredericktown; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Mary Keller and Margaret Beheler.

Megan Elizabeth Keller was born November 10, 1982, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to Jerry Killough and Connie Jo (Marty) Killough Lehman. She grew up in Rittman and the Wooster areas. She graduated from Waynedale High School in 2001 and received a Bachelor degree in Finance from the University of Akron in 2005. Megan was happily employed at the City of Wooster since 2006; she most currently held the position of Administrator of Safety Services. She was a valued employee who will be sadly missed. The Wooster Police Department said Megan unofficially ran the department, and “her loss will run deep both personally, as well as professionally.” She was passionate about life and her determined spirit was evident when you spoke to her. Megan was well loved by the community, trustworthy and had a hometown mentality of treating everyone with respect and care. In her free time, Megan enjoyed reading, spending time with family and friends, as well as her dog, Bella, and running.

Megan is survived by her parents, Connie Jo and Scott Lehman of Wooster; three siblings, Daniel (Katie) Killough of Wadsworth, Jordan (Jerry) Moon of Wellington and Zac Lehman of Orrville; six treasured nieces and nephews, Landen, Karlie, Aiden, Heaven, Gage and Kaedyn; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Killough; grandparents, Carl and Betty Marty and Emerson and Eleanor Killough; and her beloved Yorkie, Bella.

Megan and Cody’s families were most important to them. They loved with their whole heart and were grateful for the blessings they received in their lives. Their legacy of complete devotion to each other and living their lives as a wonderful example of God’s love will be treasured forever.

The families of Cody and Megan will receive friends from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2017, at Palmyra Church of Christ, 21184 Zolman Rd., Fredericktown. The funeral service conducted by Evangelist Troy Northrop and Rev. David Root will be held in the Palmyra Church of Christ on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. They will be laid to rest in Little Washington Cemetery, Mansfield. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the families.

Memorial contributions honoring the lives of Megan and Cody may be made to the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund, the American Cancer Society or the Wilderness Center at wildernesscenter.org.
