Mrs. Catherine Beasley age 97 of the Pleasant Shade Community died at 12:28 p.m. Wednesday afternoon November 8, 2017 at the Riverview Regional Medical Center in Carthage where she was admitted November 3rd suffering from kidney failure.
Her pastor and former pastor Eld. Kenny Hensley and Eld. James Thomas Gibbs officiated at the 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon November 11th funeral services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial was beside her husband in the Pleasant Shade Cemetery.
She was born Sally Catherine Gregory on October 6, 1920 in the Cato Community of Trousdale County and was the only child of the late Morgan Jonas Gregory who died December 11, 1970 at the age of 80 and Cora Jane Beal Gregory who died March 7, 1947 at the age of 52.
On December 25, 1940 she was united in marriage to Pleasant Shade Community native George Washington Beasley Jr. who preceded her in death on February 11, 2004 at the age of 83 following over sixty three years of marriage.
Mrs. Beasley was saved at and baptized into the full fellowship of the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Macon County and transferred her membership by letter to the Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church at Pleasant Shade.
She was retired from the former Carthage Shirt Corporation where she was employed for just over twenty years.
Surviving are her daughter, Sharon “Sha” Beasley Gregory and husband Garvice “Nick”; grandson, Richey Gregory and wife Susan, great-granddaughters, Wendy Gregory McCarter and husband Corey, Lydia Kate Gregory; two great-great-grandchildren, Catherine Belle and Tristan McCarter, all of the family resides in the Pleasant Shade Community.
