English Musician, Arranger, Conductor and Composer. He will best be remembered for his collaborations with David Bowie, Elton John, Carly Simon and The Rolling Stones on some of their biggest hits during the 1970s. The son of a concert musician (his mother was a pianist), as a child he studied cello in private school in London. Early in his career, he toured as a cellist with the Bee Gees and former Manfred Mann singer Paul Jones, Buckmaster's first arrangement was on Bowie’s 'Space Oddity', followed a year later by his orchestrations on several tracks on the 'Elton John' album (particularly 'Your Song' and 'Sixty Years On'), established Buckmaster as the composer and arranger of choice for many of the decade's leading artists. Among some of the albums he worked on were 'Tumbleweed Connection', 'Madman Across The Water', 'Honky Chateau', 'Don't Shoot Me (I'm Only the Piano Player)', 'Blue Moves', 'Sticky Fingers', 'Exile On Main Street', 'No Secrets', 'Endless Flight', 'Boats Against The Current', 'Mott' and 'Nilsson Schmilsson'. The following decades saw him scoring and composing for films such as 'Son of Dracula' (1974), 'Midnight Crossing' (1988), 'Peter Pan and the Pirates' (1990), 'The Rainbow Warrior' (1992) 'Twelve Monkeys' (1995) and 'Most Wanted' (1997). In recent years, he worked on albums by Guns N' Roses, Taylor Swift, Train (for which he won a Grammy in 2002 for their 'Drops Of Jupiter), Brandi Carlile, Faith Hill and many others.
