Richard Edwin "Dick" Dickey, 84, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. He was born February 2, 1933 in Dayton, the son of Ed and Mabel (Alt) Dickey. Dick was a 1952 graduate of Miamisburg High School and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Superior. He served his country in the United States Navy. Dick taught English in Duran, Wisconsin and also here in Ohio at Fairmont High School, Centerville High School, and most recently at Carlisle High School. He also coached high school sports for many years. This included football, basketball, baseball, golf, and wrestling. Dick was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope in Miamisburg and a past member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, mushroom hunting, or anything else outdoors.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Winifred (Zink); sons, Tom (Karen), John (Janette), Ken (Kathy), Joe (Jeri), and Doug (Maria) Dickey; daughter, Jackie (Donnie) Sorrell; 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 step-great grandchild; brother, Ed Dickey; brothers-in-law, Glenn (Barbara) Zink and Lee (Karen) Zink; sisters-in-law, Rosie Dickey and Loretta (Roger) Whitesell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Daphene Hensley and James Dickey; brothers-in-law, Neil and Donnie Zink; and step granddaughter, Jessica Sorrell.
