Harold was a maintenance supervisor for World Color Press. He retired after working for over twenty-five years. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill. He was a founding member of the Pinckneyville Ambulance Service. Harold was a member of the Pinckneyville Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Harold enjoyed golf and was an avid Cubs fan. He rode motorcycles and watched motorcycle sports. Harold also coached Khoury League.
He was born December 13, 1936 in Missouri, the son of Carl and Rose (Bathon) Valentine.
He married Virginia Owen on February 23, 1960 at Todds Mill, IL and she preceded him in death on October 30, 2002.
He is survived by two daughters - Cathy Valentine of Tamaroa and Sandy Fairchild and husband Tom of Waltonville, three grandchildren - Justin Valentine of Tamaroa, Amber Lewis and husband Randall of Sparta, and Michaela Valentine and special friend Brandon Scholebo of Tamaroa, three great grandchildren - Skylar Frost, Willow Craig and Jace Scholebo, one sister - Eileen Suda, and special friend - Kathy Miller of Tamaroa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife - Virginia Valentine, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
