Daniel Lee Hess
(January 24, 1956 - November 5, 2017)

It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel Lee Hess announces his sudden passing on November 5, 2017 at the age of 61 years. Dan will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend, Kerry, his children, Nate, Sara, and Brett, his grandchildren, Renee, Reagan, Cooper, and Parker, his mother, Dorothy, his siblings, Don, Diane, Dena, Dennis, and Darrell, his in laws, Garry and Linda Caldwell, and his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Hess.
Dan was born January 24, 1956 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He spent his early years in St. Jo, and at age ten moved to Savannah, Missouri. Dan graduated from Savannah High School in 1974. After graduation, Dan dabbled in many jobs but found his home at Frito Lay, where he worked 36 years. Dan won many sales awards, due to his friendly nature, and sincere, honest demeanor. Dan never knew a stranger, and to know Dan was to love him. He moved to Kansas in his early forties, and not long after his move to Kansas, he met Kerry, and married her and Brett a few years later.
His accomplishments were many, but to name a few: he leaves behind a legacy of kindness and honesty, he believed in working hard for what you have, and taking pride in your home, he took care of everyone, from helping them with a home related task, giving advice, or just a listening ear, he had many work accolades including sales awards, and number one routes, but his biggest accomplishment was his family and what he brought to it. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. He will be missed.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Tonganoxie Christian Church, 204 E. Washington St., Tonganoxie, KS, with a Celebration of Life service following at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the American Heart Association, c/o Quisenberry Funeral Home, 604 E 4th St., Tonganoxie, KS 66086. Condolences may be left for the family at www.quisenberryfh.com .
