Susan Doris Robertson passed away on November 3, 2017, at her home in Tehachapi, CA. She was 75 years old.

Susan was born on April 22, 1942, to parents Sedgwick Curtis Hawley and Doris Jeanette Clark Hawley. Along with three sisters, she was raised in San Diego, CA. She attended Crawford High School in San Diego and graduated in 1958. On October 11, 1959, Susan married the love of her life, Eugene LeRoy Robertson. They were married over 58 years and had three children, Martin, Todd, and Jay.

Susan worked about 15 years as a teacher’s assistant in the El Cajon School District. She loved to spend as much time as she could with her grandchildren. She loved to travel the Eastern Sierras with her husband, Eugene, where they would camp and fish. They would go to Yosemite where they could sleep on the valley floor, without a campground, and hike up to the waterfall. She also loved quilting and made beautiful quilts for her family.

Susan became a member of the local Christian Life Assembly of God Church when they moved to Tehachapi, where she made hats to benefit the missionaries and sang in the choir. She participated in the “Walk Through Bethlehem” Christmas program, where she sold scarfs in the square.

Susan is survived by her husband, Eugene; children, Martin Eugene Robertson and Todd James Robertson; grandchildren, Samuel Martin, Sarah Jane, Emma Gene, Paige Hawley, Caden James, Chase Michael, and Blake Charles; sister, Marian Matilda Hardy; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sedgwick and Doris Hawley; sisters, Margarete Diane Brown and Joyce Clark Jacobs; and her son, Jay Curtis Robertson.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on December 2, 2017, at the Christian Life Assembly Church, 920 West Valley Blvd., Tehachapi, CA. Wood Family Funeral Service has been entrusted with her care. For condolences please visit www.woodmortuary.net.
