John was born March 7, 1950 in Mexico, the son of Walter and Georgia Dean (Stringer) Parrott. On July 11, 1969 in Mexico, he married Karen Walker.
Mr. Parrott was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Era. He worked for 33 years at A.P. Green and retired in 2002.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Parrott of the home; one daughter, Kimberly Meyer and husband, Terry, and their daughter, Kaitlyn; one son, Tony Parrott and wife, Michelle, and their children, Tayler and Ryan; two sisters, Ruth Self and husband, Raymond, of Auxvasse, and Diane Sedgwick of Slocomb, Alabama; and his loving dog, Molly.
John was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Walter Owen Parrott, Jr., Donald Parrott, Bill “Frank” Parrott, and Michael Parrott; and one sister, Janet Campbell.
At John’s request, there will be no services. Private entombment at the East Lawn Memorial Park Columbarium will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Mexico Animal Shelter, c/o Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
