Kent Warner Stewart passed away November 4, 2017, at the age of 67 due to complications from a blood disorder from which he suffered for several years.

Kent was born on February 16, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Don O. and Sibyl Clark Stewart.  He was raised in Bountiful, Utah and graduated from Bountiful High School in 1968.

He served as a missionary in the French East Mission from 1969-1971 and graduated from BYU in 1974 with Bachelors in Business Administration and received a degree in Computer Science at Arizona State University.

Kent was a realtor and landscape architect in his younger years, then discovered his love for computers.  He worked as a computer programmer for the State of Utah for 20 years and retired in June 2017. 

Kent was an avid musician and loved to sing.  He composed music and published many songs, played several instruments including piano, organ, violin and guitar, and performed in musical groups throughout his life. 

Kent enjoyed playing basketball, playing board and card games, camping, gardening and taking care of his orchard, and watching movies with Robin. 

He served in the church as an organist in every ward he was in.  He also served as a Boy Scout leader, Elders Quorum Presidency, Nursery Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Instructor in the High Priest Quorum, and his favorite calling, Ward Librarian.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Robin Lynn Stewart; children Kyle Stewart (Stephanie), Nash Stewart (Charla), Kenna Smith (David), Kade Stewart; children from his first marriage: Holly Franz (Joseph), Julie Porter (Damon), Brett Stewart (Mindy), Brandon Stewart (Heather), Kristi Ward (Rod); siblings Howard Stewart (Susan), Sylvia Shore (Jim), David Stewart; and 26 grandchildren. 

Preceded in death by his parents, Don O and Sibyl Clark Stewart and brother Brian Carl Stewart.

A special thanks to the compassionate doctors and staff in the ICU at the University of Utah Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Ricks Creek LDS Chapel, 50 East Carrington Lane, Centerville, Utah, where friends may visit with family from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services. 

Interment Farmington City Cemetery.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
