Barbara Helen McLeod of Buck Lake, Alberta, most commonly remembered and always treasured as "Granny Barb", passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the age of 90 years. Granny Barb will be forever remembered and sadly missed by her five loving children: as well as fifteen grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by two sisters, Maryann of Winnipeg, Manitoba; and Maxine of Toronto, Ontario; in addition to many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and several cherished friends. Granny Barb was predeceased by her parents, Max and Mary Bast; her beloved husband, George in April, 2009; an infant son, Neil; and nine siblings. A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Granny Barb's Life was held at the Buck Lake Community Centre, Buck Lake on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Dwayne Henley officiating. Interment followed in the Maywood Cemetery, Buck Lake. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Granny Barb's Memory may be made directly to the Royal Canadian Legion, Alder Flats Branch No. 267, Box 30, Alder Flats, Alberta T0C 0A0.
