Ellen K. Cox, age 74 of Shullsburg, WI formerly of Darlington, WI passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Shullsburg Home in Shullsburg. She was born April 1, 1943 in Darlington the daughter of John and Lucille (Jacobson) Miller. Ellen grew up and lived in the Darlington area until moving to Arizona in 1973. She returned to Wiota to live with her mother in 1980 and began working at Dorman Cheese in Monroe, WI.

Ellen is survived by her son: Tom (Joy) Ward of Monroe; two grandchildren: Jennifer (Pat) Graham and Jon Thomas (fiancé Jerrica Stiner) Ward both of Monroe; eight great-grandchildren; one sister: Joan Hoeper of Warren, IL; one sister-in-law: Haila Miller of Wiota; and six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: David Miller; one granddaughter: Jessica Ward-Davis; and one nephew: Timothy Hoeper.

Ellen was a past member of Lamont United Methodist Church in rural Darlington. She was an avid reader and had quite the collection of thimbles. She enjoyed spending her free time stamping stationary and gifts and loved listening to music from all eras. She cherished her family and the memories they created together. Ellen will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. at Lamont United Methodist Church, rural Darlington, with Rev. Christopher V. Leistra officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church.

The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.
