Those left to cherish Kathy's memories and carry on her legacy and life examples of being a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother and friend to everyone who knew her are her husband of 45 years, Gene Goode; her son: Barrett Goode of Lake Wylie, South Carolina; her daughter and son in law: Hayley and Doug Perry and her grandchildren Savannah Perry and Kyndall Perry all of Waxhaw, North Carolina; her brother and sister in law: David and Susan Bennett of Appling, Georgia; her sister and brother in law: Susan and Barry Sumner of Martinez, Georgia; her father in law: Bobby Goode, Sr.; sister in law and brother in law: Kim and Jack Padgett of Evans, Georgia; her feline and faithful companion: Dani; several nieces, one nephew, cousins and numerous special friends also survive.
Kathy was the daughter of the late Grady Howard Bennett and Catherine Peacock Bennett. She was also preceded in death by her mother in law: Christine James Goode.
A Life Well Celebrated Ceremony will be held at 12:45 PM, Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in the Chapel at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina.
Kathy's family will receive guests from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM, in Stateroom II prior to the service.
A private inurnment will take place at a later date and time in the Family Estate Columbarium at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Kathy's memory to the Levine & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, North Carolina 28078.
