Jimmie Ruth Blair, 80, Apison died November 6, 2017.

A lifelong resident of Apison, Mrs. Blair enjoyed raising horses, breeding miniature poodles, cooking and was an avid runner and gardener- especially her roses.

She was a member of Wesleyan Missionary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mildred Gober and sister, Rose Couch.

Survivors are her husband of 64 years, Edward W. Blair; sons, Jim (Lyndi) Blair and Rex Blair all of Apison; brother, Jack (Libby) Gober, Columbia, SC; sister, Emalie (Terry) Boydston, East Ridge; three grand-daughters, Breck Blair (Burton) Stewart, Ryli Blair (Ward) Southeard all of Chattanooga, Skye Elizabeth Blair (Kevin Stone), Georgetown; two great-grandchildren, Simon James Southeard and Clair Stone; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday at 2 PM in the chapel with Rev. Johnny Ware officiating. Burial will follow at Plowman Cemetery with Jim Blair, Kevin Stone, Burton Stewart, Ward Southeard, Chris Gober and Todd Gober serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
