E. Joan Cheney age 86, a resident of Mount Vernon, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

E. Joan was born February 20, 1931, on Whidbey Island, the daughter of Elmer and A. Lucille (Ensminger) Vogt.

Ted Cheney and E. Joan were married, January 17,1953 at the First Christian Church in Mount Vernon and were married for 53 ½ years. The love of music played a huge roll in their lives.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:30 pm at Mount Vernon Cemetery, 1200 E. Fir Street, Mount Vernon with a reception to follow at Kern Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.

E. Joan is survived by her son, Ken (and wife, Debbie) of Mount Vernon; son, David of Bellingham; daughter, Suzanne (and husband, Don) Curry of AZ; three grandchildren; her brother, Bob Vogt of Oak Harbor; and sister, Jackie Eastman of Boise, ID.

Memorials may be given to Child Evangelism Fellowship, Skagit and Whidbey Counties, P. O. Box 1887, Mt. Vernon, WA 98273.
