Mae Mitchell 86, of Anderson, Missouri, was called to heaven at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2006 at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri following an illness.
Mae began her journey on August 23, 1920 in Wichita, Kansas, one of three children born to the late Ed and Anna (Neufeldt) Kimmel. On April 13, 1943, Mae was united in marriage to Damon Lee Mitchell and to this union five children were born. Together she and Damon raised their family in McDonald County. Mae was a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife and generous friend. She enjoyed traveling and cherished time spent with family and friends. Mae was a member of the Patterson Heights Baptist Church in Tiff City, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Damon in 1974 along with her parents and two brothers, Ernest Kimmel and Dwain Kimmel.
Survivors include her five children ~ Marion Mitchell and wife Jeanne of Anderson ~ Shirley Barnes and husband Charles of Branson, Missouri ~ Ron Mitchell of Anderson ~ Doran Mitchell of Anderson and Gayle Rynard and husband Dan of Portland, Oregon. Five grandchildren ~ Sherri Hall, Kristi Duty, Lori Newburn, Matt Mitchell and Jack Mitchell along with ten great grandchildren and a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors.
