Michael James St.Leger, age 92, of Havertown, PA and Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully on All Souls Day, November 2, 2017. Mike was the beloved husband for 53 years of the late Geraldine (Geri) St. Leger (nee Taylor); loving father of Annette St. Leger Pauswinski (Joe) and the late Michele St. Leger Buchan. Mike is survived by his brother Jack St.Leger (Joan) and his sister Kathleen St.Leger Mullin (the late Bud). He is also survived by his grandchildren Michael Boyer, William (Pat) Boyer, and Helene St. Leger Truesdale (Ben). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, two great-great granddaughters, and over twenty nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his parents Michael and Catharine St. Leger (nee Mahoney) and his siblings Mary St.Leger Malloy (Gerry), Theresa St. Leger and Joseph (Eleanor).

Joining the Navy at age 17, Mike followed World War II across the Pacific. He serviced fighter aircraft on many forward airfields, including New Caledonia. He eventually opened the Loop Tavern in Southwest Philadelphia. While running The Loop, Mike spent daytime often watching cooking shows on early television, which led to his life-long interest in cooking. After the bar closed, he was a route salesman for Wise Potato Chips, and eventually an agent for Allstate Insurance. Mike retired from Allstate in 1995 and began living in Florida to pursue his other life-long interest golf. Over the past year, failing health led him back to Pennsylvania.

Mike was a devout Catholic, and felt that his life had been blessed many times by the people who took an interest in seeing that he received good direction in his life. He felt especially blessed by his many friends. "I'm one really lucky son of a gun" was a frequent comment.

Mike's Pennsylvania family and friends are invited to his viewing Saturday, November 18, 2017, 9:00 to 10:00 AM at St. Bernadette of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 1035 Turner Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM, Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
