Gail F. Hibdon, 54, Route P Gravois Mills died Monday October 27, 1980 at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia. He was born at Gravois Mills on May 21, 1926, son of the late Guido and Mamie McKinley Hibdon. He spent his entire life in the Gravois community, where he was a professional fishing guide. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW Post #5902 of Gravois Mills. He leaves his wife Winifred (Winnie) of the home; 1 son: John Hibdon of Versailles, 1 step-son: Steve Bennett of Versailles; 3 daughters: Mrs. Rebecca Vaughn & Sarah Hibdon of Versailles and Diane Hibdon of Miami Florida; his mother: Mrs. Mamie Hibdon of Versailles; 1 brother: Guido Hibdon Jr. of Versailles 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Earnesteen and John Clinton Hibdon.
Services were held at Scrivener Funeral Home with the Rev. R.H. Wilbanks officiating. Merrill Womack sang. Pallbearers were: Tom Young, Raymond Bauermeister, Jack Reinke, Bud Limpus, William LaFayette and Glen Walker. Interment with military graveside rites by VFW Post 5902 of Gravois Mils in Silvey cemetery near Gravois Mills.
