Elsie E. Phillips, 97, of E. Broad Street in Elizabethville passed away Thursday, November 2nd at the Tremont Nursing Home.
She was born on June 23, 1920 in Shamokin the daughter of the late Clayton and Minnie (Heintzelman) Hornberger.
She was a lover of animals and rescued many. She worked for a time at Trio Shoe Company in Elizabethville.
She is survived by her daughters E. Irene Lehman of Elizabethville and Carol Matthews of Bryn Mawr, PA, granddaughters Ginger C. Lehman of Elizabethville, and Heide M. Bohn of Elizabethville, 2 nieces and 1 nephew, and friends Karen Bucher, Janice Gransbury, and Scott Deitrich. She was preceded in death by a brother Lee Hornberger.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am Saturday, November 11th, 2017 at Salem Lutheran Church, 205 W Main Street Elizabethville, PA. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery Elizabethville.
