Evelyn was born in Dallas, Texas on January 23, 1920 and passed away on November 30, 2016 in McKinney, Texas. She was the daughter of the late J. Floyd and Olive Mae Williams and sister of the late Ernest and Sam Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Norman J. Harper. Survived by daughter Jo Lynn Swenson and husband Gary of Celina, TX; grandchildren Bryan Swenson and wife Corrie and children Blake and Emerson of McKinney,TX and Steve Swenson and wife Mignon and children Hunter and Sutton of Plano, TX. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Evelyn was a long time member of Oak Cliff Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She graduated from Sunset High School, Dallas, TX. She married Norman on December 4, 1944 while he was still serving in the U.S. Navy. She worked for Simplicity Pattern Company, Hardware Mutual Insurance Company and many years as attendance clerk and school Secretary for the Dallas Independent School District.
