Anne Louise Hughes age 94, died peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2017. She was born on June 15, 1923 and grew up in New Richmond, Wis.
Preceded in death by parents, James E. & Lillian Norman Hughes and brother, Joseph W. Hughes.
Survived by cousins, Mary Deeds, Catherine Deeds, Elizabeth (Alan) Trombley, Michael Deeds, Mary Jean (Wyatt) Weber; nieces, Mary Seger, JoAnn Hughes, Kathryn Blixt; nephews, James Hughes and Sean Hughes.
Anne was President of the New Richmond High School Class of 1941 and in the next 72 years attended almost all of her class reunions. She served in the Women's Marine Corps (1943-1945), graduated from the U of Minnesota (1947) and Katherine Gibbs in Chicago (1948). Lived in Chicago for 55 years. Employed as a legal secretary with the Chicago law firms of Hubachek & Kelly and later Kirkland & Ellis. Anne enjoyed life and greatly loved her family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Saturday, November 4th at The Church of St. Raphael, 7301 Bass Lake Rd. Crystal, Minn. with interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, New Richmond, Wis. Visitation one hour prior to the Mass in the East Gathering Area of the church.
Special thanks to the staffs of St. Therese Care Center in New Hope, and The Willows of Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Church of St. Raphael, Crystal, Minn. or Sharing and Caring Hands, Minneapolis are preferred. Serving the family Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel of Plymouth.
