Mrs. Scott’s family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home.
Mrs. Scott died Friday afternoon, November 3, 2017 in Signature Healthcare of Putnam County.
She was born February 13, 1926 in Russellville, Alabama to the late George Washington “Wash” and Lucy Hester Daily.
Mrs. Scott was a Charter Member of First Christian Church of Cookeville.
She was a homemaker, an accomplished seamstress and talented baker, and she loved working outdoors. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and watching Gaither Homecoming shows.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Martin “Scottie” Scott, daughter, Donna Hugh Palm, and sister, Delsie McRight.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, George Ed and Nina Scott of Cookeville, grandchildren, Zechary (Vanessa) Palm of Elgin, IL, Brittany Palm (Brett) Johnson of Chicago, IL, Spencer Scott of Nashville, and Elliott Scott of Cookeville; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Allyson Rae Palm; son-in-law, Fredrik Palm of Round Lake Beach, IL.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of Visiting Angels for their compassion and care. They would also like to thank Signature Healthcare of Putnam Co. for caring for Grandmother as if she were their own during the last months of her life.
