Albert Lee Wilkinson of Ripley WV, age 88, left this world on November 5th, 2017, for his heavenly home. Albert was born on January 1, 1929. He was the son of the late Riley and Helen Wilkinson. Albert was a skilled mechanic, who devoted his career to the coal mines in Southern WV, until he retired in 1990. He enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, and farming. Albert trusted the Lord Jesus as his savior in 1997 and attended Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church. In the past several years he took pleasure in his daily Kubota rides on the ridge, visiting with neighbors and keeping up with his favorite sports team.

Albert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen White Wilkinson, brother Ervin Wilkinson; sister Mildred Young; and daughter Kimberly Slack. He is survived by sisters: Phyllis (Doyle) Taylor, Lola Faye (Gene) Olive, and Zana (Dennis) Hodges; brothers Riley (Kay) Wilkinson Jr., and Robert Wilkinson.

He will be lovingly missed by his caregiver and son Richie (Melissa) Wilkinson; daughters Jeneane Grey; Debra (Alden) Stanley; Patsy Ballard; grandchildren Jaxon Wilkinson, Talon Akers, Alysca (Stephen) Null, Jeremy Stanley, Dr. Larissa Stanley, Joshua Slack, Summer Ballard, Autumn Ballard; great grandchildren Vivian Stanley, Saylor Smith, and Sydni and Brooklyn Cawley.

Richie would like to extend a special Thank You to Missy Wilkinson and Hospice Care (Brittany, Stephanie, Sharon and Jenny) for their assistance with his care and medical needs during his final stage of life.

A celebration of life will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Jason Sparks officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
