She was born April 27, 1931 in Crary, ND to Therkel and Bertha (Becker) Peterson. On June 11, 1949, Delores married Gordon Olson in Devils Lake.
In April 1965, the family moved to Underwood, ND. Delores worked as secretary/clerk at the school for 17 years. She and Gordon moved to Bismarck in 1995. Delores worked for many years as secretary at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, and during tax season, she also worked for a CPA.
Delores is survived by two sons, Scott (Marlene), Mandan; Kevin (Cindy), Bismarck; one daughter, Kim Jackson, Washburn; seven grandchildren, Heather (Cory) Stringer, Kotlik, AK; Suzanne (Duane) Duttenhefer, Mandan; Davin Olson, Mandan; Joshua Lewis, Bismarck; Levy (Melissa) Olson, Thief River Falls, MN; Bryce Olson, Bismarck; Noah Jackson, Washburn; seven great-grandchildren. She leaves two inherited daughters, Vicki (Dave) Oehlke, Devils Lake; Laurie (Greg) Lange, Hazen; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; her parents; an infant daughter, Kathy Jean; two brothers, Albert Clayton Peterson and Theodore “Tedder” Peterson; five sisters, Henrietta “Etta” Hoveskeland, Leona “Onie” Sheard Shirek, Opal Halle, Helena Peterson, and Doris Staren.
