Per his obituary, Les came to Roseville as a baby with his parents Leslie and Lelia (nee Wells) Cook. Les was big brother to Madelyn, Kenneth, Barbara, and Joan. He was a decorated war veteran, serving from 1941 to 1945. He also served for a time under General Patton and was a competitive military boxer. After the war, he married Delores Newhouse and they had one daughter. At that time, Les became a railroad switchman, working in Roseville for 37 years. In 1955 he married Martha and they had one son. Les enjoyed hunting, fishing, bow hunting, traveling in their motor home, and spending time with family. Survived by his sister Joan, daughter Cheryle, son Steven, as well as 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
