JAMES ARTHUR HUDSON Chief Petty Officer, Retired May 29,1928-September 16, 2017 My beloved husband died today, Although God's will come what may. Not expected you left too soon, My love for you is in full bloom. The place in my heart I once let you in, Will always be until I see you again. The beautiful memories you shared with me, Will forever be my guide. And though I cannot see you, You are always at my side. James leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Joy, and their children Tara, Carrie, Jason, Joseph, James, Harry and Barbara. After retiring from the Navy in 1964 he opened the first Army Surplus store in Oroville, Ca. He was well known for his community involvement in the Elks, Eagles, Boy Scouts and Moose organizations. Working as a bartender at the infamous Table Mt. Tavern, he served Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and Lee Marvin during the filming of "The Klansman". During his military career he worked many side jobs to support his family. Taxi driver, short order cook, mechanic, bartender and barber were just a few of the many self taught jobs. He also operated two service stations in the 70's and Hy Fy Muffler in the 90's. His kind heart for helping others has left behind a great legacy. There will be a private memorial gathering with family.
