Suzan Marlene Van Zant Hodge, age 61, suddenly passed away on November 1, 2017 in Orange Park, Florida. Marlene was born on March 12, 1956 in Jacksonville, Florida to Lacy and Marion Virginia Van Zant. She was a graduate of Ed White High School in Jacksonville. She worked for S&S Cafeteria on Jacksonville's west side. She also worked for Little Tot's Daycare. Marlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend; her family and friends meant everything to her. She loved her family and friends unconditionally, and always gave of herself freely. Marlene had a love of watching for cardinals, and adored angels and crosses. She left behind a beautiful legacy, and now Marlene is free to be with the angels in heaven. Marlene will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents Lacy and Marion Virginia Van Zant; her brother Ronnie Van Zant; her half-sister Joann Morris; and her brother-in-law Bill Grant. She is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 40 years, Bill Hodge; her daughter Ginny Donovan (Tom); her grandchildren Thomas, Liam, and Emma; her brothers Donnie Van Zant (Ashley) and Johnny Van Zant (Lisa); her sister Darlene Grant; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of Marlene's life will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at one o'clock in the afternoon at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from five o' clock until seven o'clock in the evening at the funeral home.
