Mr. Brigel had been ailing for the last three years, but had been actively engaged in business until just three weeks ago, when his condition became such that he was compelled to retire. He continued to grow weaker and about ten days ago took to his bed, where he remained to the end, bearing his suffering with patience and fortitude. The deceased was born in Manneberg, Wurtemberg , Germany January 9, 1833. He came to the United States in the fall of 1859, and entered the employ of T.J. Mcgaruder, meanwhile learning the trade he followed, that of a saddle and harness maker. on leaving the employ of Mr. Mcgaruder, he formed a partnership with Lucas Klingle under the firm name Brigle & Klingel, the firm dissolving shortly after. From 1866 to 1872 he was in partnership with Messers. F. Everly and J.C. Walters. Again going out of partnership, he remained alone in business until 1882, when the present firm was formed.
July 4, 1862 Mr. Brigle was united in marriage with Miss Fredericia Eibling. The union was blessed with six children, five of whom still survive. They are: Miss Mary Brigle, John M Brigle, Mrs. H Clemm and Willie Brigle, all of this city, and Lewis Brigle of Dawson City, Alaska.
