He was preceeded in death by his mother, Marcia Barrow Langston; his sister, Lisa Helen Langston; his former wife and love of his life, Teresa Inez Langston; his grandparents; W.E. and Lucretia Hodges Barrow; and grandparents, Carrie Virginia and Bill Langston.

Those left to carry on his memory are his father, Bob Langston and wife Denise Langston; his beloved three daughters, Samantha Langston, BreeAnna Langston and fiance Clint McEntire, and Nicole Langston; his sisters, Lynn Crane and husband Curtis Crane, and Laci Langston; his brother, Jason Langston; his grandchildren, Addilyn McEntire and Camden McEntire; his nephews, Austen Crane and Corbin Crane; his former wife, Cheryl Langston; and his many friends, including his close friend John Moore and countless others.

This isn’t going to be like the normal obituaries you read in the newspaper every morning because that is just not how Dad would have wanted it. This is going to be me, “Sammy”/”Sugarbear” (his oldest daughter), writing about what I believe he meant to others. First of all, let me start off with the fact that I have never doubted the love that my father has had for me and my two precious sisters because Dad made it so very obvious to us and the rest of the world just how much his daughters meant to him. I am so thankful for the day that my beautiful sister Nicki came into this world because I KNOW that she gave him many more years just because he was so determined to be a part of her life. He loved her so very much; she was his best friend. Nicki is a very special young lady, and she allowed Dad to enjoy so many extra days even through his suffering. Dad was one of those people that you just couldn’t help but to love. He was a big ol’ teddy bear that you just always wanted to hug. Even on his darkest days when he could barely crack a smile, he would try his hardest to bring laughter to others. Speaking of laughter, he was and always will be the funniest person I know (yes Dad, I admit it, you are funnier than me…I guess). He always wanted to be the funniest person in the room…and honestly, he pretty much always was. He had the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever known- a heart of gold. He was more worried about other’s happiness instead of his own. I know that so many people are hurting because of his death, me included, but Dad is no longer suffering…how great is that? I have no doubt in my mind where he is spending his eternal life, and I am so grateful that I am confident about that fact. Memorial services are to be determined in the near future. I will inform everyone as soon as possible as to when and where the memorial(s) will be so that whoever wants to attend may be able to do so. In the mean time, I want this to be a place for the many people who loved him to post memories about this wonderful man. Continued prayers for the family at this time would be much appreciated. “How ’bout them cowboys!” “Hook ’em!” “BOOM BABAY!” “POW POW!”
