Mr. Ayers was a prosperous citizen of Ansted, Fayette County, and had taken his little daughter to the Clifton Forge Hospital for a slight operation. When it was over, he decided to be operated on himself, for his condition, while not serious had been troublesome. To the horror and grief of his friends his death ensued.
Mr. Ayers was about 37 years of age and the fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. Jos T Ayers of Sinks Grove, where he was born and reared. Some years ago, he re-moved to Fayette County.
He was a good citizen, respected and liked by his manly qualities and a fond and loyal husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, who was a Miss Brown of Fayette, and five children: also, by his parents, four brothers and four sisters. His body was taken back to Anstead for interment.
