She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Junior Malone; daughter, Janice Malone Petty; brothers, R. B. McClelland, Hubbard McClelland, and Curtis McClelland; and sister, Louise McGinnis.
Margaret and William Junior Malone were united in marriage on November 22, 1947. She lived in Sturgis her entire life and was a faithful wife and loving mother to their seven children. She happily served many meals to the Sturgis High football team when her sons played varsity football. For many years she enjoyed feeding Brunswick stew to anyone who showed up at her door on opening day of squirrel season. In addition to cooking, she enjoyed quilting and reading. As she became more confined, she loved seeing her flowers bloom and watching her hummingbirds.
Those who survive and hold many cherished memories are her children, Stan Malone (Brenda), Kenny Malone (Connie), Michael "Red" Malone (Cindy), Judy Shaw (Mark), all of Sturgis, MS, Barbara McBride (Danny) of Mathiston, MS, Donna Chaney (David) of Tupelo, MS; grandchildren, Mike, Nikki, Chris, Heather, Josh, Lindsey and Leland; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Gillis of Sturgis, MS, and many nephews and nieces.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Sturgis, MS, with the service immediately following. Burial will be in McClelland Cemetery in Sturgis, MS. Rev. Dan Robertson and Rev. Halton Davis (Junior) will conduct the service.
