Chris E. Johnson, 52, of Niles, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, following a brief illness.

He was born on January 7, 1965 in St. Joseph County, Indiana and raised by his loving parents, Forrest L. and Alicia Anne (Simpson) Johnson.

After graduating from high school, Chris enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country proudly. Chris was a talented mechanic and machinist, loving to see how everything worked, and was currently employed at Delta Machine in Niles. He could usually be found, in his spare time, working on his 1971 Road Runner, playing video games and spending time with his family; he also collected and flew RC Planes and Helicopters.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Chris is survived by a sister, Lisa (Chris) Boone of Angola, Indiana; a brother, Michael (Maria) Johnson of Albion, Indiana; a nephew, Brian Boone of Angola, Indiana, and special friends, Ryan and Noelle Motuelle of Niles and Barry Sokoloskis of Niles.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at West Jamestown Cemetery, west of Freemont, Indiana.
