The Lord saw fit to call Viola Pete Lewis, 90, home on October 31, 2017, “All Hallows Eve,” at her home.

She was born on September 30, 1927, in Eunice, LA, to the late Lee and Charlotte Anderpont Pete. She moved to Galveston in her late teens where she met and married the late Captain Leon E. Lewis.

She was a dedicated member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and a former member of the Texas Peace Officers Association – Wives Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings, Leola, Leo, Leroy, Horace, Jimmy, and Martha Raye.

She leaves to mourn a life well lived her children: Derryl and Leonora; sisters: Leanna, Marguerite, Barbara, and Doris; brother: Lee; brother-in-law: Dugal; sister-in-law: Mary; granddaughters: Dana and Brandy; great grandchildren, Bradyn, Braelle, and Braylen, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will begin at 8:30 AM, on Thursday, November 9, 2017, followed by a rosary service at 10 AM and a funeral mass at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with Father Jude Ezuma as celebrant.

Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
