When Maud Marion Timpson was born on November 26, 1874, in Southampton, Hampshire, her father Frederick Charles Timpson was 28 and her mother Florence Ross was 27. Her father was a Master Mariner who captained luxurious private steam yachts owned by the wealthy Clark family of Scotland, who were thread manufacturers, and Cornelius Vanderbilt III. She married architect William Fraser, ARIBA, on September 20, 1898 in Sandbank, Dunoon, Argyll, Scotland. She had two sons and one daughter with William between 1900 and 1910. She died in 1967 in Rosemere, Quebec, at the age of 93, and was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto, Ontario.
