Arturo attended the Los Alamos Ranch School and graduated from St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe, where he was active in many sports. He won State Tennis Championship in 1941 and was a member of the St. Mike's boxing team. He farmed in Los Alamos and San Pedro for many years.
He is survived by brother-in-law: Bill Caperton who also took great care oh him and lived with him in San Pedro; sisters: Lucia Montoya Roybal and husband Stan of Arroyo Seco, Rose Montoya Olivas of Santa Fe, Adelina Montoya Montano and husband Bennie of Santa Fe, Virginia Montoya Archuleta and husband Ruben of San Pedro; brother: Rubel Montoya and wife Rosina of Espanola; and numerous nieces and nephews, great and great-great grand nieces and nephews.
